Celebrate both intimate and grand celebrations in one of our gorgeous historical rooms, you’ll feel like royalty on your special day.
We can accommodate Guildhall weddings of up to 150 people in the Great Hall and the Drapers Room. The Great Hall, which houses one of the country’s most valuable tapestries and lies beneath a ceiling of carved medieval angels, is a prestigious venue steeped in history.
The Drapers Room, which was famously occupied by Mary, Queen of Scots, exudes British charm with stunning stained-glass windows.
With a selection of beautifully atmospheric rooms to choose from, make memories with loved ones in the city of culture. If you’re looking for room hire in Coventry for a private party or to host an event with a bang, we can accommodate you in smaller areas like the Armoury or larger rooms like the Great Hall.
The Armoury, a beautifully atmospheric chamber with mellow sandstone and large oak timbers, is a perfect venue to organise a celebration where you’ll be surrounded by historic armour.
Alternatively, in the Great Hall, immerse yourself in medieval stories and feel the history come to life as you dance the night away.
Looking to host a corporate meeting? Encapsulated in rich history and heritage, St Mary’s offers a memorable visit that will leave a lasting impression, St Mary’s Guildhall has a variety of available meeting rooms for hire in Coventry.
From the Fullers room which is ideal for interviews, to the Drapers room, which is suitable for small group conferences and lunches.
The Fullers’ Room overlooks the cobbles of Bayley Lane and the ruins of St. Michael’s, Coventry’s second cathedral, which was demolished during the 1940 blitz.
Leave an impression when you host a corporate event at St Mary’s Guildhall. We have large venues, such as the Great Hall and Undercroft, that can accommodate Christmas parties or award ceremonies so you can make the most of your event.
The Great Hall, which was first built in the 1340s, was the merchant guild’s primary ceremonial, meeting, and banqueting hall.
Lying directly beneath the Great Hall, the Undercroft was formerly used to store gunpowder during the Civil War and features stunning sandstone pillars that serve as a wonderful backdrop. This works well as a cocktail reception in conjunction with the Great Hall.
“A big thank you for yesterday’s tour of the Guildhall. Not only is the Guildhall magnificently restored and incredibly interesting, your enthusiasm, knowledge and warm welcome added so much. I felt like a VIP. I would recommend a tour of the Guildhall with a knowledgeable guide as a ‘must see’ in Coventry; it illustrates so much about Coventry’s heritage and adds a dimension well beyond Coventry’s leading role in motor manufacturing.”
